TES will make the first direct global measurements of the ozone and other gases important to tropospheric chemistry. TES completes a global survey every 16 days to provide atmospheric measurements over virtually every point on the Earth, in a repeatable pattern. This permits assessment of atmospheric phenomena and changes in the same geographic locations throughout the life of the mission.
